In anticipation of Gameweek 11, we’re taking a look ahead to the weekend’s action and offering some insight as you finalise your squad…

The Battle of The Claret and Blues

West Ham have been incredible this season and are offering some fantastic budget options up front in the form of Downing (5.8m), Sakho (5.8m) and Valencia (6.9m). These three musketeers have propelled West Ham up the table to 5th and are only out of the Champions League places by goal difference. Confidence must be sky high and it could be set to rise further when they face Aston Villa.

Villa have been woeful recently but against Spurs on Sunday, they were quite impressive creating a number of decent chances that were in the end wasted. All of this seemed to fade away following Benteke’s red mist and Lambert must be rueing his luck, as he now faces the whole of November without his star striker.

All of this only spells danger for Villa when they rock up to Upton Park so we’re expecting a comfortable victory where West Ham players further their case for inclusion in our squads. A rare clean sheet could also be on the cards given the absence of Benteke.

Rotation For Rodgers

Following the attention around Rodgers’ team selection for Liverpool’s trip to Madrid, all eyes will be on how they perform against Chelsea. Could this be the match that turns Liverpool’s season around or will Chelsea continue their march towards the title? It will be a tightly fought contest where any result is possible.

With Chelsea embarking a great run of fixtures following this game, we’ll be monitoring their assets to see whether it’s worth doubling up on their attackers and whether they can improve their solidity at the back after only collecting 3 clean sheets all season.

Elsewhere…

Can United make light work of Palace? Will Southampton punish the Foxes? Will Sanchez continue his sparkling form against a tricksy Swansea team? Can Baines continue to justify his pricetag? How will Aguero cope without Silva to supply him?

We’ll find out the answers to these questions and many more in Gameweek 11!
