In 3 weeks’ time they will travel to Munich to attempt to overturn the 3-1 deficit.

On Thursday evening, we were treated to Europa League feast. Spurs and Newcastle both left it very late before scoring vital goals to progress to the next round of European action. Whilst

That rounds up a cracking week of European action, Liverpool put in a mammoth effort to fight back from a 3 goal deficit after going behind early on but were unable to find that 4th goal that would’ve put them through. Two Suarez free kicks and an Allen goal were not enough on the night.

In the final game, Chelsea went behind to Sparta at home and were saved in the final minute by super sub Hazard, giving them the vital goal that sends them into the next round. Whilst Liverpool’s fixture schedule eases up, Chelsea’s is going into overdrive, where rotation and fatigue are sure to make things interesting and unpredictable in the next few weeks.
