Whilst most fantasy football managers will looks towards the likes of Walcott (9.5m) and Cazorla (10m) when picking their Arsenal midfielder of choice, there remains one more option that you should consider and that is Jack Wilshere. Of late, he’s struggled with serious injuries but he’s back and raring to go. With a full pre-season under his belt, we could finally see the best that this promising young player has to offer.
First off, at 6.5m he’s a snippet and with that value in mind, he’s barely a gamble. Coming in an entire 3m less than Walcott, he could be a handy differential whilst freeing up funds for elsewhere. It’s unlikely that Wilshere will have as many goalscoring opportunities as Walcott and Cazorla but his pricetag demands our attention when you consider others available at his fee.
Wilshere has long been heralded as the saviour of English football with his all-round footballing ability in the centre of the pitch. He has a left foot we’d all wish to have and his vision and decision-making is incredible for such a young player. At 21, there’s so much more to come from Wilshere and we at Fantasy Football Addict can’t wait for him to fulfil his potential.
Watching the video above, his talent is there for all to see and if Arsenal can keep him fit all season, they will be in with an excellent shot at the title. At times, Wilshere will sit a little deeper acting as the kickstarter for an attacking move but you can also expect him to burst forward with give-and-go’s with his fellow Arsenal team-mates.
Assists are more likely than goals and those ahead of him are more likely to benefit from his vision and play but Wilshere is an interesting differential going into the new season and if he racks up any sort of top score during a gameweek, we can expect the bandwagon to gather steam incredibly quickly given his price.
In the lead up to Gameweek 1 and over the course of the season, we will be posting more spotlight articles focusing on a player we feel deserves your attention.
