It’s been just over a month since the season ended and the transfer gossip has been frantic. With managers coming and going, next season is shaping up to be something special. First up, here’s a roundup of the manager merry-go-round:
- Man United – Moyes was confirmed as the successor to Fergie before the end of the season but he’s got big boots to fill. Fergie has left a legacy and Moyes will need to step up if he is to continue the great work by the managerial legend. He’s got a great squad to work with and additions are expected over the summer as Moyes will finally have the cash to go for targets he couldn’t afford at Everton.
- Chelsea – The Special One has returned to England and big things are once again expected of Mourinho. Like Moyes, he has a great squad at his disposal and incoming transfers are to be expected as Mourinho looks to take Chelsea back to the top. Schurrle (£18.7m) has already joined the wealth of talent in Chelsea’s midfield from Bayer Leverkusen and others are likely to join the Jose Revolution.
- Man City – It took a while but Pellegrini was finally announced as the new City manager in mid-June and we’ve got yet another new face at the top. He may not have any Premier League experience under his belt but he comes with quite the reputation, having performed well in Spain. One player he has nurtured during his time at Malaga is young Spanish starlet Isco, with Real Madrid also fighting for his signature. The City board are hoping that Pellegrini can lure the U21 star to Manchester, if he succeeds, Isco is definitely one we’ll have to keep an eye on.
