The Friday Team News

The season is ready to rock and roll, and here at Fantasy Football Addict we just can’t wait until it all kicks off! The managers have given their first press conferences of the season and this is what we learnt…

  • MAN UNITED – Manchester United might have left a big clue that signings are on the way, leaving squad numbers five, seven and nine unassigned. Van Persie (12.5m) has been ruled out having not trained yet. Valencia, Shaw and Evans are also out, leaving question marks over United’s defence.
  • CHELSEA – Mourinho wouldn’t give anything away in terms of who will get the nod in goal between Courtois and Cech who are both priced at 6m.
  • MAN CITY – Pellegrini has doubts over his World Cup players so they may not feature this weekend; this includes Pablo Zabaleta, Martin Demichelis and Fernandinho. Mangala is also ruled out for not being ready for action yet.

  • LEICESTER – Albrighton (4.5m) is still sidelined with a groin injury.
  • NEWCASTLE – Pardew confirmed Newcastle will be without Siem de Jong, Cheick Tiote, Papiss Cisse and Davide Santon on Sunday through injury.
  • EVERTON – Barkley (7m) could be out for 2 months after injuring his knee.

So that’s your lot from the managers, it’s now down to you. I know you’ll all probably be too excited/nervous/happy/sad/thrilled but don’t fret over your team too much. Some of your players will return points, some won’t but remember this is just the start; there are 38 gameweeks this season and plenty of fantasy points to accrue. So try and get some rest tonight, there’s a big weekend ahead!
